Episode 246
Physical and Emotional Abuse on LDS Missions: A Legal Perspective with Frank Stucki ESQ. MBA
On this episode of Mormonish, Rebecca and Landon are joined by trial lawyer Frank Stucki to discuss the kind of cases former LDS missionaries bring to court seeking justice.
Frank is a civil trial lawyer licensed in Utah who has personally sat in depositions and in the courtroom during civil litigation that stems from experiences on an LDS mission. In our episode he brings to light the types of abuses; physical, sexual, emotional, religious, etc. that may occur while someone is serving an LDS mission.
This is a very eye opening and sobering episode and I'm sure many of our viewers and listeners can relate to many of the scenarios we go through.
Our intent in sharing this information is to help all of us find positive ways to support missionaries and prepare them for the experience by promoting autonomy, even under the restrictive missionary system.
